Extensions to CronosII

Note

This written for the final release of the original Cronos II. i.e. CronosII-0.2.2-mr2.

Users ofi386 binary packages (DEB's and RPM's) should not need to manually install any of the plugins. The standard tarball release should also install the plugins for you.

Included with the MR2 / Eclipse release of CronosII are four Plugins. These are:

Composing Your Mail

This is where you write your mail. It is also where you interact with your accounts and use the address book.

Composer Window

Write that letter

The Default Keyboard Shortcut is: Ctrl + N

After selecting the Compose function you are presented with the Mail Compose Window ( Dialog.)

There are three primary areas and a few different functions available from this dialog.

1. The Top Icon Bar See the Section called The Composer Window - Icon Tool-bar for more information.

2. The Address Entry Fields See the Section called Receivers Address below for more information.

3. The Message Entry or Edit Window. See the Section called The Mail Bodybelow for more information.

Setting Up CronosII

Before you can use CronosII you will need to do some configuration.

The first and most important step is configuring your Accounts.

Please see the Section called Setting up your accounts in the chapter called Get Connected

Everything else should work fine in default configuration.

Don't worry, you may not even need this manual !

To Set up your Email accounts and other preferences, select
Settings ==> Preferences.
This opens the Preferences dialog.

Note

This version of the User Help Manual assumes you have installed CronosII and have an open version of the application running. The CronosII Website (http://cronosii.sourceforge.net/) may have a version of this manual with screen-shots.

The Tree style menu to the left of the dialog gives you access to the following configuration options:

General Options

The Preferences window opens with a tree style menu of configuration options.

The opening interface gives you the General Options. These are labelled on the dialog and are dealt with sequentially below

Check Mail Timeout

Slide the drag handle to set the time CronosII will wait between checks (and auto mail download) on your mail server.

Caution

For slow connections set this value high as you will tie up resources while checking and down-loading
